Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram

The following is a rather long, highly detailed, version of the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram of Earth or LBRP, followed by an abbreviated outline version for reference.  While this version does go into great detail on how to perform the LBRP, it does not explain what the LBRP is or anything about it.  For a detailed explanation of the LBRP, what it is, what it is used for, how to do it, and what it can do, please click here for additional information.

The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram of Earth

Part One – Ascent into Space/Aura of Stars

Start by standing in the middle of your ritual space, facing East.  Visualize yourself expanding, growing larger and larger, taller and taller, growing larger until you rise above the ceiling of the room you are in, then above the building, the landscape, even the city you are in is getting smaller beneath your feet. See the land and then the continent begins to get below your growing majestic body and the Earth itself begins to get smaller under you, but no matter how small the Earth becomes below you, it is firm and solid beneath your feet, anchoring you to the ground.

Continue to visualize yourself growing, getting larger as the solar system shrinks underneath your colossal self, rising above the spiral armed Milky Way galaxy, and growing until even our galaxy is but a tiny speck of light at your feet and the hundreds of billions of galaxies shine like stars in an oval-shaped aura universe that encompasses your vast cosmic body. See yourself filling and being part of the entire universe, floating in its midst. Know that as you fill the universe, your feet are still completely stable, planted firmly on the ground in your ritual space back on Earth.

Part Two – Kabbalistic Cross

Step One –

Continuing to see yourself in the vast cosmic form filling the universe, surrounded by an aura of stars and galaxies, now visualize a single dot of light coming from somewhere far above your head. It is a light beyond all light, greater than all suns, a power that is the source or all things in the universe, the radiance that proceeds from the essence of all being. It forms into a brilliant white sphere of great shining light just above our head, nine inches in diameter, about the size of a dinner plate.

Reach up over your head with your right hand, pointing into the sphere with your finger or ritual weapon (normally the banishing dagger) and draw a shaft of the light down to touch the middle of your forehead. There it forms a center of light just above and between your eyebrows, and it illuminates your entire cranium with impossible brilliance.

While toughing your forehead Vibrate: Ateh (“Ah-TAH”, uppercase syllable denotes emphasis, meaning Thou Art)

Step Two –

Bring your hand down with your finger or ritual weapon to touch your solar plexus(between the base of your sternum and your belly button) while you visualize drawing the shaft of brilliant white light with your hand through your body, extending downward from the infinite above you, through the Earth at your feet, and beyond into eternity.

Vibrate: Malkuth  (“Mahl-KOOT”, meaning The Kingdom)

Step Three –

Now bring your right hand/weapon up to the center of your chest above your heart then extend it over to touch your right shoulder. Visualize a shaft of brilliant white light extend from the center axis above your heart to the right, past your shoulder as you touch it, and extending outward to the end of the universe and beyond. 

Focus on this beam of light and vibrate: Ve-Geburah “(Veh-Geh-boo-RAH”, meaning And the Power)

Step Four –

Bring your hand/weapon across the center of your chest to touch the left shoulder. Visualize the beam of white light extending across and through your body though infinite space to your left forming a perfect cross of brilliant light across your body (NOT a crucifix cross with a longer bottom than top, but a perfect equal armed cross in all four directions).

As you focus on this beam of light, vibrate: Ve-Gedulah (“Veh-Geh-doo-LAH”, meaning And the Glory)

Step Five –

Press your hands together at the center or your breast, palms together as if praying if you are using just your hands, or closing your left hand around your right if you are holding the dagger. Visualize within your chest, at the point in the center of your chest above your heart where the two beams of light meet in the middle of you, at the point covered by your hands, a brilliant golden glowing orb of light.

 Vibrate: Le-Olam, Amen (“Leh-Oh-LAHM Ah-MEN”, meaning Forever, Amen)

Visualize yourself as the center of the universe with only the divine light coming through you. You may wish to remain in this position for a few minutes to feel its power.

Part Three – Formation of the Pentagrams

Step 1 – East Pentagram

While still facing East, draw in the air a large banishing-earth pentagram with your extended right arm using your right index finger or ritual weapon (usually a banishing dagger). Starting at the spot in front or your lower left hip, draw the line up to before your head in front of your face, continue the line down to a point in front of your right hip, then up over to before your left shoulder, across to before your right shoulder, then back down to the original point in front of your left hip, creating in the air before you a perfectly proportional five pointed star.  Visualize the lines as you drawn them and the finished pentagram as lines of glowing blue white energy before you. See the figure in front of you as perfectly proportional and as a representation of divine power.

Hold your hand/weapon to the center of your chest for a moment, with your left hand to your side, and inhale deeply through your nose as though drawing energy from the very hidden depths of the universe. Feel the energy flow from the universe around you through your body and down to even the very bottoms of your feet. Step forward with your left foot and thrust your finger or dagger point-forward into the very center of the pentagram with the elbow just shy of being locked and charge it with the power of the divine by vibrating the God-Name. Exhale as you vibrate the name, feeling the energy come back up through your body and out of your hand, through the pentagram to the ends of the universe. As you do, see the pentagram burst into an electric blue flame (like that of a gas stove, but much brighter), as though the symbol were charged and sealed by the power of the name.

As you thrust your finger/weapon into the pentagram, vibrate the God-Name: YHVH (“YUD-HEH-VAHV-HEH”, equal stress on all of the syllables).

With the hand/weapon still pointed into the center of the pentagram, pivot clockwise where you stand, drawing and electric blue-white line from the center of the pentagram and making a quarter of a circle as you turn to the south, drawing the line to south directly in front of you.

Step 2 – South Pentagram

Repeat Step 1 exactly, but while facing South and instead this time vibrate the God-Name: Adonai (“ah-doh-NYE”)

Draw the line from the center of the pentagram again clockwise, turning to the West.

Step 3 – West Pentagram

Repeat Step 1 exactly, but while facing West and instead this time vibrate the God-Name: Eheieh (“Eh-heh-YEH”).

Draw the line from the center of the pentagram again clockwise, turning to the North.

Step 4 – North Pentagram

Repeat Step 1 exactly, but while facing North and instead this time vibrate the God-Name: AGLA (“AH-glah” — a notarikon of Ateh Gibor Le-Olam Adonai, “Thou art mighty forever, O Lord”).

Draw the line from the center of the pentagram again clockwise, turning to the East to complete the circle of pentagrams with a line going through each of them, connecting them into a circle of divine energy.

Step 5 – Finished Circle

Visualize the brilliant circle of energy expanding up and down to form sphere of white energy above, below, and all around you and your ritual space. You have created a brilliant white sphere of energy all around you with the flaming electric blue-white pentagrams at the quarters that have been charged and sealed with the names of the divine.

Part Four – Evocation of the Archangels

Step 1 – Raphael – East

Stand in the center or your ritual space still facing East. Raise your arms our to your sides in the form of a cross.

Visualize the archangel Raphael, archangel of air, standing before you in the East. He is a great and powerful archangel with massive white wings that command the winds.  He has blond hair and fair skin, and his robe is yellow with flashes of violet. He stands atop a hill with wind coming from the cloud-patched sky behind him, holding a caduceus wand in his right hand.  His robes are blowing lightly in the wind around him and you can feel the cool breeze blowing towards you.

Say: “Before me, ” and vibrate the angel name: Raphael (“rah-fay-EL”)

Step 2 – Gabriel – West

Without turning, visualize the archangel Gabriel, archangel of water, standing behind you in the West.  He is a great and powerful archangel with massive wings dripping with the waters, wearing a blue robe with flashes of orange.  He has light brown hair and fair skin. He stands in the shallows by a gushing spring, holding a silver cup in his left hand. You can feel moisture wafting in from the West. Beads of dew cling to and roll down his vestments.

Say: “Behind me,” and vibrate the angel name: Gabriel (“gahb-ree-EL”)

Step 3 – Michael

In the South to your right, visualize the archangel Michael, the great and powerful archangel of fire with massive angelic wings that glow with heat. He wears robes of brilliant scarlet, flashing with green, with red hair and fair skin.  In his right hand he holds upright a massive sword of flaming iron. He stands in a burning desert, and fire rising up from the burning sands around his feet.  You can feel the intense heat of his power emanating from him.

Say, “At my right hand,” and vibrate the angel name: “mee-kay-EL”

Step 4 – Auriel

In the North to your left, visualize the archangel Auriel, archangel of earth. Another great and powerful archangel with massive wings. He wears robes of green, flashing with black and brown, with black hair and fair skin. His eyes are large, dark, and intense. His left hand hold sheaves of wheat. He stands in a green field, and beyond him is a forest, and past the forest rises mountains in the background. You can feel the cool, dry earth from your left, and smell the dirt.

Say, and vibrate the angel name: “And on my left hand, or-ree-EL”

Step 5 – Closing

With your arms still out to your sides in the form of a cross, facing East, see the pentagrams flaming around you and say: “For about me flame the pentagrams…”

Visualize a golden hexagram floating in your torso, centered on your heart.  The uppermost point near your throat, and the lowermost point near your stomach.

Say: “…and within me shines the six-rayed star”

Part Five – Repeat the Kabbalistic Cross

Summary

Part I – Ascent Into Space

Expand yourself into the universe and surround yourself with an aura of stars.

Part II – The Kabbalistic Cross

Step 1 – Bring the light down from the infinite above you, touch your forehead and Vibrate: “ah-TAH”

Step 2 – Extend the light to the infinite below you, touching the solar plexus and Vibrating:”mahl-KOOT”

Step 3 – Pull the light out from your center to the right, touching your right shoulder and Vibrating: “veh geh-boo-RAH”

Step 4 – Pull the light across you to your left, forming a cross within you touching the left shoulder and Vibrating: “veh geh-dyoo-LAH”

Step 5 – Press your hands together over your heart and Vibrate: “leh o-LAHM, ah-MEN”

Formation of the Pentagrams

Step 1 – Facing East, draw a banishing-earth pentagram. Stab into the center of the pentagram and Vibrate: “YUD-HEH-VAHV-HEH”. Draw a blue line turning to the South from the center of the pentagram.

Step 2 – Facing South, draw a banishing-earth pentagram. Stab into the center of the pentagram and Vibrate: “ah-doh-NYE”. Draw a blue line turning to the West from the center of the pentagram.

Step 3 – Facing West, draw a banishing-earth pentagram. Stab into the center of the pentagram and Vibrate: “eh-heh-YEH”. Draw a blue line turning to the North from the center of the pentagram.

Step 4 – Facing North, draw a banishing-earth pentagram. Stab into the center of the pentagram and Vibrate: “AH-glah”. Draw a blue line turning to the East from the center of the pentagram.

Step 5 – Complete the circle, forming a sphere of energy around you.

Evocation of the Archangels

Step 1 – Stand Facing East, holding your arms out to the side in the form of a cross.  Visualize Raphael before you, say and then Vibrate the archangel name: “Before me, rah-fay-EL”

Step 2 – Visualize Gabriel behind you, say and then Vibrate the archangel name: “Behind me, gahb-ree-EL”

Step 3 – Visualize Michael on your right, say and then Vibrate the archangel name: “At my right hand, mee-kay-EL”

Step 4 – Visualize Auriel on your left, say and then Vibrate the archangel name: “And on my left hand, or-ree-EL”

Step 5 – Say: “For about me flame the pentagrams…”, see the hexagram in your torso, “…and within me shines the six-rayed star”
